FAQ про Minoxidil
What is minoxidil?

A synthetic substance originally developed as an antihypertensive agent (to lower blood pressure). However, research revealed that it has a powerful stimulating effect on hair follicles. As a result, hair growth products based on this substance have been manufactured for more than 70 years.

How does minoxidil work?

The mechanism by which minoxidil promotes hair growth has not been fully elucidated. However, it has been established that minoxidil causes hyperpolarization of cell membranes by acting on potassium channels. It increases blood flow to the hair follicles, stimulating the growth of both new and existing hair.

How long do I need to use minoxidil to see results?

The first results, in the form of vellus hair, are visible after just one month of using minoxidil; however, to achieve the desired effect, a treatment period of at least 6 months is recommended.
За цей час волосся встигає достатньо укріпитись і набратись пігментом.
Для збільшення густини рекомендується продовжити застосування міноксидилу після 6 місяців.

What concentration of minoxidil should I start with?

For men, it is recommended to start with 5%.
The recommended starting concentration for women is 1-2%.

When should you switch to 10% or more?

It is recommended to switch to higher concentrations of minoxidil when the effects of the 5% solution are no longer noticeable, or when there are problem areas where hair growth is weak.
Of course, you can start right away with 10%, but it is not recommended to reduce the concentration.

No progress is being made, and the effects of minoxidil aren't as noticeable anymore. What should I do?

You can take a break from using minoxidil for 1–2 months.
You can start using it 10% or 15% minoxidil.

Minoxidil + mesoroller. Is it worth it?

Yeah, the mesoroller is a cool gadget.
However, it is not recommended for use on skin with rashes or inflammation.

Is dry skin caused by minoxidil normal?

Yes. The lotions contain alcohol and propylene glycol. These ingredients can cause dry skin.
It is recommended to use moisturizing creams or oils, especially during the first 2 weeks of using minoxidil, or to use propylene glycol-free gel, which is ideal for sensitive skin.
